Dusty - 20 years gone.

20 years gone. It doesn’t seem possible.

It’s a year of multiple Dusty anniversaries. She would have been 80 in April, it’s 40 years since the iconic Drury Lane & Albert Hall concerts, and of course 50 years since the acclaimed Dusty In Memphis album was released.

A lot has been written of Memphis, usually observing that Dusty was terrified to be singing in this studios surrounded by the ghosts of soul music giants. If only she had been able to see what she brought to the project - a refinement and control that, combined with inspirational phrasing - added a layer to the Memphis sound that had had never been heard before.

I bet they were in awe of HER!

EP5 almost complete

There is just one more song to record for the new EP. It had to be delayed as my asthma hospitalised me for the 3rd time this year, but I’m fighting fit again and should be able to sing any day now.

Christmas single

The full, unedited version of Once On A Christmas Day is released today Dec 11, 2018 worldwide. The edited version was a track on Winter Tales EP.

New recordings on the way

It will be some months before you hear them, but preparations are under way for my next recordings. i think these new songs are particlarly strong and I’m determined that they will be shown in their best light.

Great release day for new EP

Should I Move On? exceeded all my hopes & stormed to No.7 on the i-Tunes Singer/Songwriter chart. That is the highest chart position of any of my releases, the previous best being No.16 for Winter Tales in 2016.

These days, unless you are a major artist with a record company behind you, it is unlikely that the sales will last at this level, but who knows?

Thank you everyone who downloaded.

News Flash!! First radio play for new track!

Should I Move On?, the title track from the new EP (out Thursday) will be played on Indies By Angel on Belter Radio, tomorrow (Mon 8th Jan) between 20:00 - 22:00 (UK).

New EP out in 4 days!!

SHOULD I MOVE ON? E.P. will be on i-Tunes worldwide on Thursday. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it as it covers a wide range of styles.

I’d Listen To You All Night - a rythmic, relaxing ballad with hints of both soul & country.

Colour & Light - an acoustic track inspired by my childhood love of Doris Day movies.

Games That Lovers Play - the great James Last melody interpretated in a slower, more thoughtful style, in tribute to my late friend.

Should I Move On? - a powerful track with roch & country influences, with a thoughful lyric & powerful vocals.
